Dear trainers, event organizers & partners,
The Guild is happy to announce the launch of the Guild’s new online calendar (rooted in Google calendars), where you can easily post events of interest to our members and partners.
This document outlines the few simple steps to post events to that calendar. It is for you to save and share with others who may want to post events to our calendar.
- Step 1: Find our invitation to our shared calendar titled ‘HP Events’. If you want to add an email to our shared calendar, please let me know and I will issue an invite.
- Step 2: Log into your Google account or a Google compatible account. If you do not have either, you will need to create a Google account and notify me (don@hpguild.org) of the new email account so I can invite that email address to our ‘HP Events’ calendar.
- Step 3: Create an event in the ‘HP Events’ Calendar. Fill in all the details: date, time, duration, location, and description. (NOTE: the first 20 words of the event description will appear in a calendar pop-up preview.)
- Step 4: Invite my email (don@hpguild.org) to the event.
- Step 5: Save the event.
- Step 6: When you save the event, I will get an email inviting me to the event. I will review it and switch it to the public ‘Industry Events’ calendar so people can view it on our website’s calendar. (NOTE: the ‘HP Events’ calendar is not a public calendar and does not show up on the website. Therefore it is essential that you invite me to the event, such that I can transfer it to the public ‘Industry Events’ calendar.)
We have been pursuing the goal of having a central industry calendar for our members and partners to serve as a clearinghouse for all of the important events that will help our industry grow and thrive. So now that it is live, we would greatly appreciate you posting all of your important events to our calendar in the way that we’ve outlined.
