Thanks for Attending the 2015 Home Performance Conference!

THANK YOU FOR ATTENDING…

On Wednesday, October 14th, 2015, over 100 diverse representatives joined the Home Performance Guild in Portland, Oregon for an innovative exploration of the Intersections of Health and Home Performance.

Home Performance contractors, service providers, technology providers, and programs, were joined by low-income weatherization program participants, public servants working in the delivery of health or home repair related social services, and environmental health professionals. All in attendance engaged in collaborative discussions to identify barriers, opportunities and next steps for greater integration of health into Home Performance.

When the conference came to a close, participants were energized by the structure of the open discussions, and the ideas shared. All were left motivated to develop actionable strategies to ensure that every home performance intervention has a healthy and safe outcome, in addition to an energy efficient one.

With next steps top of mind, the Guild has created a Dropbox housing all materials related to the conference. There you’ll find session presentations, as well as report-outs from the two collaborative workshops. You’ll also find a host of support materials related to the topic of Health and Home Performance that were provided by some of our conference contributors.

What people are saying…

Once again the Home Performance Guild has succeeded in elevating a critical conversation at the nexus of energy and public policy.  The conference highlighted the connection between home performance and healthy homes and set the stage for strong collaboration in the years ahead.

This conference did an excellent job exploring the synergies between Health and Housing and finding ways to merge the two in our Home Performance Industry. Nationally renowned experts presented on their experiences at integrating the two and also marketing and selling Indoor Air Quality and Healthy Homes work. As our industry moves towards creating tighter and more efficient residential building envelopes, indoor air quality and ventilation become exceedingly important and must be considered for our client’s health and well-being. Congratulations to the Guild for considering these topics and hosting such an excellent conference.
