Noise Mitigaton & Home Performance

TriMet RFP – Bid Date is April 8th

At the March member meeting of the Home Performance Guild, Jonathan Tillman of Trimet (formerly of CSG) presented an opportunity to our Home Performance contractor members.

Jonathan communicated that TriMet has an obligation to perform noise mitigation measures on homes with noise impacts caused by the operation of the new Orange Line from Portland to Milwaukie. They have identified 14 houses that will be included in an RFP as needing further analysis with potential for requiring noise mitigation measures installed. (Windows, doors, air sealing, and/or mechanical ventilation are some examples). Current estimated value of this work is over $300,000. What they end-up spending at each home will determine the final contract amount.

He reached out to the HP Guild so that interested Home Performance contractors could receive notification that this opportunity is coming, and to let them know that in order to receive and respond to the RFP they will need to register on the TriMet e-bid site. He is placing this RFP under the category – 09055 – Construction – Insulation/Acoustics. Interested contractors should make sure they have included this category when they register.

A big thanks to Jonathan Tillman of TriMet for his savvy in looking to the Home Performance contracting community for noise mitigation – just one of many tangible non-energy benefits of our fine work!
